Interesting to note the different phrases between us and you. The "distance education thing" is called Home Schooling here. Kids that are Home Schooled seem to be way ahead of the average child in our public school systems. That's my observation. There's pro's and con's to it that need not be gone into here. I just wanted to say that home schooling and actually traveling to learn more about what is being studied is a good way to go.

Interesting that the males want to hold back while the females are bolder or more trusting. But when I gave it some thought, that can be said about other animals, like elk. You don't have elk but we don't have koala's. You have not spoken of them yet. Are they just in a certain area?

I have only seen the Aussie Jaycos on their web site, no they are not sold here. Jayco has a completely different line made and sold in North America.

Our current price is a tad over $1.00/Litre Can$ or approx. $3.50 US$/Gallon.

Thanks for the information. I attended a seminar some years ago at Gold Coast U - loved the area and the people - lots of similarities between Canadians and Australians - must be from the old colonies....

Hey there . . . welcome . . . love your picures and that you are jumping right in and making yourself at home! What a cute family you have and a great country to live in. I was in Australia a while back and did not get much out of Sydney and Canberra. I was only there for 3 weeks. . . I need to come visit for like 6 months . . . Love that lorikeets are wild there! We have some here at the zoo and they are a huge hit with the kids!! We look forward to your posts of other camping adventures!!

Well the pop-top is loaded, hooked up and positioned ready for a quick getaway first thing in the morning. We're off to a creekside campsite about 300km from home for a long weekend. This one will mark a big difference, in that there's nothing in the way of entertainment for the kids, except the fun they can make for themselves! About time they learned to amuse themselves instead of demanding to be entertained.

Wish us luck, photo's to follow on our return next week!!

We have spent some time down under. Our son in law is an Aussie from Melbourne. Spent 2 weeks touring your mainland (?) Then this year we toured Tasmania. Had a nice talk with some folks in Launceston who were there for a carivan rally. The carivans we saw in Tasmania look bigger than the ones driving around the rest of Australia. Next time we get down there. Would love to see your neck of the woods.

OMG that is our dream to visit Australia, my husband works in the nuclear industry and we almost got to go to Australia but last minute changes by employer changed that. Please post pics as we are as curious about your country as you probably are about the USA. We are so happy to hear from you!! If you have questions about anything, I am sure someone here knows the answer with the vast amount of RV knowledge on this site. Welcome aboard mates and little ones!
