What a great feature, I added our home to the map.

I have been trying to figure out a way to keep track of the places we want to visit when we retire, and this fits the bill. Also, we just made a quick trip home after picking up our "new to us" Wanderlodge in San Diego and there were many places that we would have loved to spend more time exploring.

    Thanks John 'n Deb.

Don't forget to go back and add some of your favorite places that you have visted or camp ground you recommend for RVPICers

    Did you notice???

I have added other GOOGLE Map features created by other people to enhance Google Personal Maps.

Pick a spot on the map and then choose one of the features.

    For instance.

If you choose Photos from Panoramio, you will see pictures that people have posted from around the area you are viewing.

New York is one of my own personal maps.

Get Lat/Long will show latitude and longitude of the point that you pick enabling you to transfer that spot to another map program.

I have decided to share something I have been working on for several months.

I was hoping this idea would take off in RVPICS and get lots of input to the RVPICS Google Maps that I created to help gather as much info as possible, but it just didn't take wings.

I hope somebody finds this useful.

When I have commented in various posts that I have Google Mapped something someone has posted about, this is what I was doing.

I have greatly appreciated some of the posts from Ed, Bob, Jerseybluesman, just to name a few, as well as a lot of the Mystery Photos and other threads about places and campgrounds that have been posted.

Anyway. Here is what I did with all this info plus stuff I have gathered across the internet.

CLICK HER TO SEE My MAPS.

Once you get to a particular map It's better to use the menu on the left because the clickable icons on the map are often one on top of the other.

Also. If you have a Google Map of your own you can "Save to My Maps" once you are in one of mine. (But you can't edit it)

You are all welcome to any of this information that will benefit your RVing experience.

This is an ongoing project and any new additions will be vissible when you go back to a particular map.

Very cool (even if Montana has an extra n). This will sure make some planning easier for people.

Very cool Carl. Noticed something called "Street View" on the google maps and that is scary. Looks like they drove a camera truck down my street. I can almost read my license plate numbers!
