We bought a new 5th wheel in February and have been busy getting it loaded and those pesky factory flubs fixed....I had to take the curtains down and we are going to put the 5th wheel in the rv port for the first time tomorrow......because it is about 2 feet taller I am going to have to put the curtains up a different way. Backing the travel trailer was a piece of cake but backing this 5th wheel is a PITA.......

You'll get the hang of it... aren't you glad you didn't mount those curtains in there any better than you did?

I think I will need to borrow or rent some scaffoling in order to change the way I have the curtains installed. If it wasn't for the slope of the ground going into the rv port I could make some folding type doors that would open out. That would require an engineering study....

For some reason, your thumbnail did not become larger when I clicked on it, so I didn't get a good look at your new rig...but from what I can see, it's a nice one. I've heard good things about Heartland models. What do you think of yours so far??

So far we are pleased.....Of course anything built today is going to have flaws and the service is only as good as the person doing it....If I had it to do over again I would buy the same unit but from a different dealer. I think my dealer hires mentally challenged repair people.....a light cover fell off of one of the over head lights and broke so I went to the dealer to get a replacement...I was told that I could not get a replacement cover I had to get a whole fixture.....thinking that this may be a problem while on the road I ordered a spare and paid for it, cash money, when the 2 came in one was broken, the parts guy would not send it back so I ended up eating it.....When I left it for the first service I made a list using 18 pt type so they could read it, well I wasted my time because they only did 4 of the things I listed. In my opinion stay away from Longview RV in Dover Fl. at least from a service stand point.....I have done some of the things that they should have done.....

My neighbor down the street liked my rv port so well he had himself one built while we were on our 6 week trip...
I had to take down the closures on the front of mine so that the 5th wheel would fit inside....Now I am going to have to figure a new way to close the front. More on that when I get back on my feet and am mobile again.....
